The Red Button Being Pressed

Again this was my scene, and may I say it works really, really incredibly well in 3D. I decided to add some energy into the shot, and create those extreme angles again, as homage to the Grand Guignol Horror styles where shadows and shapes were distorted to create monstrous cinematic effects.

The shot is made up of two elements, the background, which involves the scientists far hand interacting with the red button, and the machine itself. The foreground is the element that defines the 3D aspect, and it is the forefront of the body, the part of the scientist that is closest to us in the frame.

So firstly we have the Background.

And then the foreground.

As an avid fan of the film Alien (Directed by Ridley Scott) I decided to have these fore-fingers movie ever so slightly, to kind of recreate that eerie sense of movement; that is so well crafted in the Alien film when Ripley is alone on the escape pod with the Alien, and it is hiding in that compartment with only body segments moving ever so slightly. It also turned out to just complete the shot! Again, I used the Chroma Key Green Screen technique to composite the two parts into one shot.
